Privacy & cookie policy

Clear choices begin with clear disclosures.

This policy explains the data the current CourseChain site may process and what must change if analytics, forms, or advertising are activated.

Last updated: August 22, 2026  •  Applies to: this CourseChain static website build

1. Current site design

CourseChain can be browsed without an account. The current path planner does not request a name, email address, phone number, wallet address, payment information, or precise location. Planner selections are processed in the browser and are not saved or submitted by the site.

The current build contains no live Google advertising tag, analytics tag, payment system, user account, newsletter form, or contact form. Clearly labeled advertising boxes are placeholders only.

2. Hosting and technical logs

When this site is published, the hosting or content-delivery provider may automatically process information needed to deliver and protect the website. This can include IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, referrer, timestamps, error data, and security events.

The site owner should identify the actual hosting provider, retention period, legal basis, and data-controller contact before public launch. Those deployment details cannot be truthfully completed inside a local static template.

3. Cookies and local storage

CourseChain’s current JavaScript does not set cookies or save planner answers. A browser may still cache files as part of ordinary page delivery, and a hosting provider may use strictly necessary security technology.

If optional analytics, advertising, personalization, or embedded media are enabled later, this policy must be updated to identify those services, purposes, retention periods, recipients, and choices before the technology is activated.

4. Google advertising

If the site owner activates Google advertising, Google and its partners may process identifiers such as cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, device information, and ad-interaction data to deliver, measure, secure, limit, or personalize ads, depending on the user’s choices and applicable law.

Google explains how it uses information from partner sites at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Users can manage ad personalization through Google’s advertising controls where available.

Before ad tags are added, the site owner must configure any legally required consent or opt-out mechanism. For users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Google may require a certified consent management platform. The owner must also honor applicable US state privacy choices and other local requirements.

5. Advertising choices

Depending on location and the deployed advertising configuration, users may have choices to accept, reject, or manage non-essential technologies; request non-personalized ads; opt out of certain sharing or targeted advertising; or adjust browser and Google account settings.

Blocking all cookies can affect some site or advertising functions. CourseChain should not load consent-dependent tags on this privacy page before the appropriate choice has been recorded.

6. External links

CourseChain links to official documentation, public agencies, and other third-party sites. Those services have their own privacy practices, security, and terms. Opening an external link may share standard connection information with that destination.

7. Children

CourseChain is general educational content and is not designed for children under 13. The site does not knowingly request personal information from children. Advertising configuration must not use personalized advertising based on activity known to come from child-directed areas or users known to be under the applicable age.

8. Security and retention

No website can guarantee absolute security. The static design reduces direct collection, but the published site will still depend on the security of its hosting, domain, code, and any services later connected. Data should be retained only as long as required for the disclosed purpose, security, or law.

9. Individual rights

Depending on location and actual deployment, individuals may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive copies of personal data, and to withdraw consent. A verified controller identity and working privacy contact must be inserted before public data collection or advertising is enabled.

10. Changes

This policy should be revised whenever the site’s data practices, advertising setup, legal entity, hosting, analytics, forms, or applicable requirements change. The updated date should reflect the real publication date.

Deployment information still required.

Before launch, replace this notice with the verified site owner or legal entity, jurisdiction, privacy contact, hosting provider, and any live vendor details. Do not publish invented information.
